Description

50 scientists from 20 labs around the country will share highlights of animal behavior research questions and field techniques using hands-on activities and demonstrations. Some highlights of the interactive stations include radio-tracking rodents to study habitat choice, recording frog calls to study communication in noisy conditions, and using robotic birds to study how animals decide to choose a mate. Live animals will be present at many of the interactive stations, including raptors, fish, butterflies, black widows and bee hives. The event will conclude with a release of marked butterflies (weather permitting). This will be a great event for families, summer camp groups, and university faculty, staff and students!
