General Information

$25.00 each
Thursday, June 6, 2013 - 9:00am to 12:00pm
CU Museum

A Bug's Life: Kindergarten - 2nd grade: Join us at the CU Museum as we become entomologists, the scientists who study insects. Use nets to gather insects from the air and sweep them out of the grass. Draw and pin insect specimens and create your own clay caterpillar. Fireflies, ladybugs and other beetles will play a prominent role in our explorations of the vast and diverse insect world.

Cretaceous Colorado: 3rd - 5th grade: Colorado used to be an inland sea full of weird and wonderful creatures. Explore the clues they left behind, excavate a fossil, look up close at many the specimens from our collection of over half a million fossils, get a look at ancient creatures – large and small - that lived in our own backyard! Cast your own soap from a real fossil mold. Design your own Boulder undersea diorama.

Each workshop meets for three hours from 9:00 am - noon at the CU Museum of Natural History on the CU-Boulder Campus. Healthy snacks will be provided.
