Student Workshops
Paleontology Curator helps student during a hands-on activity!

Student Workshops are offered in conjunction with Themed Programs and Guided Tours to provide a more in-depth learning experience. These hands-on, activity-based workshops are one hour in length and take place in the Museum's classroom or galleries. Please allow 2 hours for both the program or tour and the workshop.

Navajo Weaving: Learn the steps of weaving from sheep to rug. Design your own rug based on traditional patterns and weave your own pouch.
Pottery of the Southwest: Learn the steps of pottery making and examine prehistoric shapes and designs. Design and create your own pot.
Fossil Fun: Discover different types of fossils and the exciting things we can learn from them. "Excavate" and make your own "fossils."
Wildlife Tracking: Explore tracks and trails of Colorado wildlife and discover the stories they can tell. Make a mold of your own wildlife track.
